Redesign of Craigslist for improved usability
The Craigslist redesign project aimed to address significant usability issues in the existing platform. As a widely used classifieds website, Craigslist needed a modern interface that enhances user experience while maintaining its core functionality. The redesign focused on improving site navigation, visual aesthetics, and ensuring clear exit points for users.

The primary problem with the original Craigslist website was its outdated design and cluttered interface, which led to user frustration and high bounce rates. Key challenges included: • Navigation Issues: Users struggled to find listings due to poor organization. • Visual Clutter: The homepage presented too many categories at once, overwhelming users. • Lack of Clear Exit Points: Users had difficulty identifying how to exit or navigate away from listings. The redesign aimed to simplify navigation and declutter the landing page, enhancing overall user experience.
Through extensive research, including competitor analysis and user feedback, I identified key areas for improvement. The redesigned website features a streamlined navigation menu, improved visual hierarchy, and a modern aesthetic that aligns with user expectations. Future considerations include implementing a robust verification system for listings to enhance trust and security. If given more time, I would explore additional navigation options and user incentives to further improve the experience.
